Drumline director Charles Stone III has signed on to helm the biopic from a screenplay by Kate Lanier (What’s Love Got To Do With It).
“With this cast, we are thrilled with the talent assembled both in front of and behind the cameras,” stated Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Production, VH1. “TLC are truly music pioneers and this movie is a fantastic way to expand our scripted push by combining our audience’s passion for music with their love of story. @WolverineMovie tweeted this new look at Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine, directed by James Mangold and heading to theaters on July 26, 2013. And in case you missed it, the photo below was tweeted back in January showing Jackman all dressed up and looking handsome but very serious:
The Plot:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern-day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.
Emad Burnat, the co-director of the Oscar-nominated film 5 Broken Cameras, was detained at LAX last night after flying in to attend this weekend’s Academy Awards ceremony. US Customs officials apparently didn’t believe his story that he was invited by the Academy to attend the Oscars and he – along with his wife and son – were held for almost two hours before finally being allowed to leave the airport.
Following the incident, Burnat issued this statement:
“Last night, on my way from Turkey to Los Angeles, CA, my family and I were held at US immigration for about an hour and questioned about the purpose of my visit to the United States. Immigration officials asked for proof that I was nominated for an Academy Award® for the documentary 5 BROKEN CAMERAS and they told me that if I couldn’t prove the reason for my visit, my wife Soraya, my son Gibreel and I would be sent back to Turkey on the same day.
After 40 minutes of questions and answers, Gibreel asked me why we were still waiting in that small room. I simply told him the truth: ‘Maybe we’ll have to go back.’ I could see his heart sink.
Although this was an unpleasant experience, this is a daily occurrence for Palestinians, every single day, throughout he West Bank. There are more than 500 Israeli checkpoints, roadblocks, and other barriers to movement across our land, and not a single one of us has been spared the experience that my family and I experienced yesterday. Ours was a very minor example of what my people face every day.”

Summit Entertainment’s provided a new look at the upcoming movie Ender’s Game written and directed by Gavin Hood and based on the book by Orson Scott Card. The studio’s just released this batch of – and I’ll use the studio’s description as I’ve never read Ender’s Game and have no idea what this means – “army logos from Battle School (Dragon, Salamander, Rat & Asp).”
The cast is led by Asa Butterfield and includes Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin, and Harrison Ford. Summit’s aiming for a November 1, 2013 release.
The Plot: In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is pulled out of his school to join the elite.
Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.
Disney delivers a very visually stunning new clip from Oz The Great and Powerful titled “Travel By Bubble.” The clip, obviously, finds characters played by James Franco and Michelle Williams drifting through the air in bubbles.
The Plot:
Disney’s fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.
Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.
Watch the clip:
Oz The Great and Powerful hits theaters on March 8, 2013.

Michael Bublé’s highly anticipated next album, To Be Loved, will be released in the US on April 23, 2013. International Bublé fans will be treated to the album’s release a few days earlier, on April 15th.
Reprise Records also announced that the album’s first single, “It’s a Beautiful Day,” will debut on February 25th.
To Be Loved is Buble’s sixth studio album. His most recent album, the holiday-themed Christmas, sold seven million copies and earned the title of the second best-selling album of 2011. Produced by Bob Rock, To Be Loved includes standards as well as four original songs, all co-written by Bublé.
Among the tracks on To Be Loved are the Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody,” Dean Martin’s “Nevertheless (I’m In Love With You),” the Jackson 5’s “Who’s Loving You,” Jackie Wilson’s “To Be Loved” and Elvis Presley’s “Have I Told You Lately.” And Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon joins Bublé on Frank and Nancy Sinatra’s “Something Stupid.”
“My new record is about love, happiness, fun, and yummy things. Getting to work with my friend and longtime collaborator Bob Rock (Call Me Irresponsible, Crazy Love, and Christmas), who produced the entire album, was very exciting. We’re a good team. I love the songs we selected this time out. It was also terrific working once again with my songwriting partners,” said Bublé.
