Pixar’s showing off this first look at their upcoming short film Blue Umbrella set to screen before Monsters University on June 21, 2013. Marc Greenberg produced the latest Pixar Animation Studios short with Saschka Unseld directing.

The Plot:

It is just another evening commute until the rain starts to fall, and the city comes alive to the sound of dripping rain pipes, whistling awnings and gurgling gutters. And in the midst, two umbrellas—one blue, one not—fall eternally in love.

Fox Develops ‘Wayward Pines’ and ‘Blood Brothers’

Fox Logo

Fox has made deals with M. Night Shyamalan (Sixth Sense) for Wayward Pines and for Blood Brothers from Bruce C. McKenna (The Pacific), Gary Randall (Saving Grace), and Timothy Scott Bogart (Touched). The new dramatic “event” series could appear on the network in 2014.

Fox Broadcasting Company Chairman of Entertainment Kevin Reilly made the announcement, stating, “With top-notch auspices and feature-quality production plans, Wayward Pines and Blood Brothers represent exactly the kind of high-impact, 10- to 12-part events we set out to develop when we entered the limited series business. These two series are the first of many big ideas, big names, and big talent that you can anticipate will be on our air in the next 12-24 months.”

Details on Wayward Pines:

Based on the best-selling novel Pines by Blake Crouch and brought to life by suspense-driven filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, Wayward Pines is an intense, mind-bending thriller evocative of the classic cult hit Twin Peaks. Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions. What’s wrong with Wayward Pines?

Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive. Wayward Pines is based on a spec script written by Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club) and executive-produced by Shyamalan, Hodge, Donald De Line (Green Lantern, The Italian Job) and Ashwin Rajan (After Earth).

Details on Blood Brothers:

Blood Brothers is the true story of the West Point Class of 1861. As our bitterly divided country tore itself apart over the issue of slavery, the West Point Brotherhood broke apart. Best friends, bonded in the intense crucible of the Academy, found themselves on opposite sides of a conflict that quickly became the bloodiest in U.S. history. For four violent years, these former comrades fought directly against each other, even as many of them rose from lowly second lieutenants to field generals.

Throughout the conflict, however, they never lost their love and esteem for each other, which often resulted in many acts of kindness that stretched across enemy lines. Some died; others were broken by the conflict. But every one of the Brothers was utterly changed by a war that not only redefined America, but still resonates today. Blood Brothers is written by McKenna, and executive-produced by McKenna, Randall and Bogart.

Go Inside ‘Mama’ with a New Video

This behind-the-scenes video from Mama gives us a little taste of what we can expect from this creepy horror film produced by Guillermo del Toro. Starring Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), Mama likely won’t have you wanting to substitute this mother figure for your own.

The Plot:

Guillermo del Toro presents Mama, a supernatural thriller that tells the haunting tale of two little girls who disappeared into the woods the day that their parents were killed. When they are rescued years later and begin a new life, they find that someone or something still wants to come tuck them in at night.

Five years ago, sisters Victoria and Lilly vanished from their suburban neighborhood without a trace. Since then, their Uncle Lucas (Coster-Waldau) and his girlfriend, Annabel (Chastain), have been madly searching for them. But when, incredibly, the kids are found alive in a decrepit cabin, the couple wonders if the girls are the only guests they have welcomed into their home.

As Annabel tries to introduce the children to a normal life, she grows convinced of an evil presence in their house. Are the sisters experiencing traumatic stress, or is a ghost coming to visit them? How did the broken girls survive those years all alone? As she answers these disturbing questions, the new mother will find that the whispers she hears at bedtime are coming from the lips of a deadly presence.

First Look: The Last Exorcism Part 2 Trailer

The sequel to The Last Exorcism (which proves the ‘last’ part of the title was a bit misleading) has a new trailer to show off. Hitting theaters in March 2013, The Last Exorcism Part 2 was directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly and features Ashley Bell back in the lead role.

The Plot:

Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found terrified and alone in rural Louisiana. Back in the relative safety of New Orleans, Nell realizes that she can’t remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning.

The Plot:

The Emmy Award-winning Justified returns for its fourth season with U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) picking at the thread of a cold case over 30 years in the making and unraveling a riddle that echoes all the way back to his boyhood and his criminal father’s bad dealings. Meanwhile, Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) finds his own criminal grip on Harlan County loosening due to a Pentecostal preacher with a penchant for theatrics and a knack for manipulation.
