Written and directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose), Sinister finds Ethan Hawke playing a true crime writer who finds a “box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror.”
Set for release on October 5, Sinister also features James Ransone, Michael Hall D’Addario, Vincent D’Onofrio and Juliet Rylance.

Whatever the motivation, the fact the production used a severed head that looks like former President George W. Bush has prompted HBO and Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to issue apologizes. Benioff and Weiss actually pointed out the head on the DVD commentary of season one while discussing the scene in which King Joffrey forces Sansa Stark to look at her father’s severed head on a spike. The severed head that resembles Bush can barely be seen and is covered with a long black wig.
The formal apologies:
HBO: “We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste. We made this clear to the executive producers of the series who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production.”
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss: “We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We can’t afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush.
In the DVD commentary, we mentioned this, though we should not have. We meant no disrespect to the former President and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise.”

I’m talking about the latest red-band teaser trailer for Magic Mike which is not safe for work as it concentrates on selling the guys’ physical attributes and couldn’t care less about the story.
Hitting theaters on June 29th, Magic Mike features the dancing skills – and toned abs – of Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, and Alex Pettyfer.
The Plot (like anyone really cares):
Set in the world of male strippers, Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Channing Tatum. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.
Over the course of its seven season run, Weeds has earned 21 Emmy, 10 Golden Globes, and six SAG Awards nominations. Commenting on the critically-acclaimed series, Showtime Networks Inc President of Entertainment David Nevins stated: “Weeds has been a seminal series for SHOWTIME and was key in establishing the network as a home for great original programming. It has had a groundbreaking run, and will be one of the longest-running comedies in the history of cable. Her narcissistic, danger-junkie antics paved the way for future sympathetic yet highly flawed anti-heroes who have since become standard television fare. The show and its many signature moments (including Nancy setting Agrestic ablaze, Shane’s croquet mallet-bludgeoning, Andy’s dog-eaten toes and self-gratification speech, the Armenian mafia Mexican stand-off, etc.) generated critical acclaim, a legion of fans and watercooler buzz for their sheer outrageousness.”
“For the final season, it’s back to the ‘burbs for the Botwins. The fallout from the shot heard round the Tri-State area will transform everyone for the better, at least initially. The tragedy has caused Nancy to turn over a new (pot) leaf and return to her pre-dealing soccer mom ways. Meanwhile, Andy finds some semblance of love with someone uncomfortably close to Nancy, and Doug uses his hedge-fund money in a surprisingly good way. But just as it was in Agrestic, nothing is as serene as it seems in Old Sandwich, Connecticut. Just how long before the Botwins return to their old ways and blow up this new neighborhood, literally and/or figuratively, will remain to be seen.”
NBC is keeping the surprising coming, adding six new single women to the mix on the reality series Love in the Wild. Following the departure of the two latest evicted competitors (we’ll keep their names concealed until the end of the article for those who haven’t watched the June 12th episode), NBC introduced six new ladies who are looking to make a connection on the adventure dating series.
Jenny McCarthy hosts the show, which began with seven surprise men who paired up with the single women to form trios. Now, with the addition of the six surprise women, it’s the men who get to “select another woman to be part of their trio for the next adventure — and see whether the existing relationships formed will stand the test of the new temptresses.”
According to NBC, the next episode will find the new trios shackled together and having to endure a “rigorous challenge through the jungle” as well as a trip inside a bat cave. “The winning couple will enjoy a romantic sailboat cruise, while the emotional Couple’s Choice Ceremony brings surprise rejections and sends six women home without finding love in the wild.”

LINDSAY FURMAN (Age: 29) — hometown: Spring Lake; N.J.; resides in Philadelphia – The incredibly competitive event planner and model Furman seems to attract more male than female friends which could be due to her love of football. Besides being afraid of scary movies, her greatest fear is growing old alone. She’s searching for a witty man who can keep up with her.
NATALIE KORZON (Age: 24) — hometown: Ann Arbor, Mich.; resides in Santa Monica, Calif. – One of three sisters, Korzon was introduced to sports by her dad who taught all his daughters to play ice hockey. A former member of Western Michigan University women’s ice hockey team, Korzon is certain that she will dominate all of the challenges. This art teacher is sure to get creative in finding ways to lure Mr. Right.
MELISSA ALATORRE (Age: 23) — hometown: San Diego, Calif.; resides in Los Angeles — Don’t underestimate the pint-sized Alatorre; she is incredibly competitive and is not afraid to go after the guy she wants. This San Diego native is looking for a guy that is ready to commit. Her secret weapon is her piercing green eyes, which she says men have a hard time resisting.
JENNA GILLUND (Age: 23) — hometown: Chicago; resides in Dallas — As a former NBA team dancer, Gillund is tired of the dating scene in Dallas. Originally from Chicago, she describes herself as a Midwest girl who prefers a real man and appreciates a little spontaneity. Gillund is a fierce competitor and keeps her eye on the prize – finding herself a man and winning the show.
VANESSA RAMIREZ (Age: 30) — hometown: Phoenix.; resides in Phoenix — As a television host and in-game host for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Ramirez knows how a team should work and will bring that knowledge to her adventures in the wild. Other pluses for this extremely competitive lady are that she is in great shape and works out daily which will help in navigating the wild terrain — although her fear of bugs may cause some problems. As far as the dating jungle goes, her last serious relationship was seven-years-long, and since then, she has yet to find “the one.”
MICHELLE SACCO (Age: 26) – hometown: Rome, Ga.; resides in Atlanta — After Sacco’s last relationship ended, she has been on the hunt to find Mr. Right. This super-confident girl believes in love at first sight and will do whatever it takes to get the guy she wants. Sacco is often unfairly judged by her appearance, but don’t be fooled by her beauty, she has the brains and brawn as well. She grew up bass fishing in the Everglades and definitely knows her way in the wild.

Soundtrack for 'Rock of Ages' - WaterTower MusicAre you ready to rock?
The soundtrack to the ’80s tribute musical, Rock of Ages, has entered the Billboard Soundtrack Chart in first place. The hard-rocking record also earned the #15 spot on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and it’s currently sitting at #1 on the Indie and Hard Music charts, according to SoundScan.
The Rock of Ages soundtrack features tunes by ’80s rock bands Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, and Poison performed by Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, and Diego Boneta. The film, based on the hit Broadway musical, hits theaters on June 15th.

Paramount Pictures has picked up the film rights to the upcoming book The Diviners from bestselling author Libba Bray. Bray will be adapting the book and is on board as executive producer, with Fake Empire’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage producing.
Bray’s writing credits include the Gemma Doyle trilogy (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, The Sweet Far Thing) and Beauty Queens (a LA Times Book Award finalist). Little, Brown Books will be releasing The Diviners – part one of a four part series – in September.
