Showtime’s just announced a contest in which one lucky winner will receive a trip to Italy “including round-trip airfare courtesy of Delta Airlines, five nights at the Westin Europa & Regina in Venice, a private tour of the Monte Del Fra Winery, and a $5,000 gift card to spend on BORGIAS-inspired decor at VandM.com.” The Borgias Unveiled Sweepstakes kicked off today and runs through April 19th, with visitors to www.borgiasunveiled.com earning entries into the sweepstakes.
The Borgias returns for season #2 on April 8, 2012 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The Sweepstakes Details:
“SHOWTIME will kick-off the second season of its critically acclaimed series The Borgias with a nationwide design event featuring high-end retail window installations in ten cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, DC, Miami and Dallas. An industry-leading designer in each city will bring to life one of ten themes from the show using exclusive pieces from VandM.com(TM) (Vintage and Modern), the leading online source for unique vintage furniture, antiques, art, jewelry, fashion and design.
Themes from The Borgias that chronicle the epic lives of the original crime family include power, passion, greed, opulence, envy, faith, revenge, sin, decadence, and love. The windows will be unveiled in each market on April 2nd and will be on display through April 19th. During this time, consumers can visit www.borgiasunveiled.com to explore each window installation, learn more about the designers and to vote for their favorite masterpiece. Each vote will enter them into The Borgias Unveiled Sweepstakes for a chance to win a grand prize trip to Italy.”
After the Today show debuted a tiny bit of the trailer, Sony Pictures made the full trailer available online for the musical Sparkle starring Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick and CeeLo Green. Sparkle was supposed to help launch an acting comeback for Houston, but instead it marks the last film she worked on prior to her death on February 11th. Houston was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel just hours before Clive Davis’ pre-Grammys party, with her death ultimately ruled a “drowning due to atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.”
Sparkle hits theaters on August 17, 2012.
The Plot:
Musical prodigy, Sparkle (Jordin Sparks) struggles to become a star while overcoming issues that are tearing her family apart. From an affluent Detroit area and daughter to a single mother (Whitney Houston), she tries to balance a new romance with music manager, Stix (Derek Luke) while dealing with the unexpected challenges her new life will bring as she and her two sisters (Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter) strive to become a dynamic singing group during the Motown-era.
NBC and Columbia Records will be releasing Smash‘s first season soundtrack on May 1st. Among the artists included on the upcoming soundtrack are Katharine McPhee (‘Karen’), Megan Hilty (‘Ivy Lynn’), Leslie Odom (‘Sam’), Nick Jonas (‘Lyle’), and Will Chase (‘Michael’) who sing original numbers created for the show as well as songs adapted for the series.

The Plot:
NBC’s Smash celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross-section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire – to be a “Smash.” The series unites the hit-making Broadway writing team of Julia Houston (Debra Messing, Emmy winner, Will & Grace) and Tom Levitt (Christian Borle, Legally Blonde: The Musical) with producer Eileen Rand (Anjelica Huston, Oscar winner, Prizzi’s Honor) to create a new musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe, and seasoned chorus girl Ivy Lynn (Hilty, 9 to 5: The Musical) vies with newcomer Karen Cartwright (McPhee, American Idol) for the role of a lifetime.
“We are created in God’s image, not humans. Their flesh shall nourish yours,” says a member of the Vampire Authority in the new trailer for True Blood.
The sexy vampire/werewolf/shapeshifter series isn’t returning for season five until June, however HBO revealed new footage from the upcoming season in front of the premiere of Game of Thrones season two last night. The new 30 second video contains new clips from season five including brief – very brief – scenes with Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), Bill (Stephen Moyer), Jason (Ryan Kwanten), Sookie (Anna Paquin), Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), and Sam (Sam Trammell).

Katy Perry performs at the Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards - Photo Credit: Christopher Polk/KCA2012/Getty Images for NickelodeonWill Smith hosted Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards held on Saturday, March 31st in Los Angeles, kicking off the show by parachuting down from the KCA blimb and then singing “Can U Handle This.” Best known as the awards show that slimes celebrities, this year Halle Berry, Taylor Lautner, Chris Colfer, and Justin Bieber got into the spirit – and turned neon green – as victims of slimings.
In addition to host Will Smith, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Miranda Cosgrove, Zac Efron, Josh Hutcherson, Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Robert Downey Jr., Heidi Klum, Chris Rock, Big Time Rush, Keke Palmer, Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, Cody Simpson, Jennette McCurdy, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Victoria Justice, and Nolan Gould also took to the stage to hand out awards. KCA winner Katy Perry performed her hit “Part of Me” and One Direction caused the females in attendance to scream with a performance of “What Makes You Beautiful.” And First Lady Michelle Obama was on hand to present Taylor Swift with The Big Help Award for her charitable work. Per Nickelodeon, The Big Help Award “recognizes individuals who take actions to better the world and whose significant impact on their community has inspired kids to do the same.”
More than 220 million votes were cast by kids to determine this year’s winners.
Warner Bros just released via Facebook the first banner for Man of Steel, the upcoming Superman movie starring Henry Cavill and directed by Zack Snyder. Set for a June 13, 2013 release, Man of Steel also features Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, and Kevin Costner.
