‘American Horror Stories’ Season 2 Trailer Welcomes Back AHS Fan Favs

FX dropped the official trailer for the upcoming second season of American Horror Stories, a spinoff of the popular, award-winning American Horror Story series. The one-minute trailer teases the return of American Horror Story alumni Denis O’Hare, Cody Fern, Max Greenfield, Nico Greetham, and Gabourey Sidibe as well as the addition of a few new faces including Alicia Silverstone and Bella Thorne.

The seven-episode first season of the horror anthology premiered on July 15, 2021 and kicked off with two dads and their daughter moving into the Murder House. Season two is set to debut on July 21, 2022 on FX on Hulu with a creepy episode titled “The Dollhouse.” And no, I haven’t seen it yet, but come on…anything with dolls is bound to be creepy. Plus, the doll poster for season two is deeply disturbing.

American Horror Story creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk executive produce along with Alexis Martin Woodall, John J. Gray, and Manny Coto. The AHS franchise is a 20th Television production.

The first season split critics and sits at 50% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. IndieWire’s Kristen Lopez described it as feeling like “a group of writers sitting around talking about what they’ve watched and listened to and trying to make a horror story out of it.” However, LA Weekly’s Erin Maxwell believes it captured the spirit of AHS, saying, “If you’re a fan of the series and the deranged universe it inhabits, well, good news! All of those elements remain intact, sans the meandering narratives that seemed to stretch into eternity, and made a lot of us give up on past seasons.”
