Being reckless and inappropriate aren’t qualities sought after by the Miami Police Department, according to the official trailer for Apple TV+’s Bad Monkey. Vince Vaughn stars in the streamer’s adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel, premiering on August 14, 2024.
Two episodes of the comedy arrive on August 14th, followed by new episodes of the 10-episode season on Wednesdays.
“Bad Monkey tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys,” reads Apple TV+’s synopsis. “But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.”
In addition to Vince Vaughn, the cast includes L. Scott Caldwell (The Fugitive), Rob Delaney (Catastrophe), Meredith Hagner (Search Party), and Natalie Martinez (La Promesa del Retorno). Alex Moffat (Saturday Night Live), Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone), Ronald Peet (First Reformed), and Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) also star. John Ortiz (American Fiction), Zach Braff (Scrubs), Ashley Nicole Black (Ted Lasso), Scott Glenn (The Leftovers), and Charlotte Lawrence guest star.
Vince Vaughn executive produces along with Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses, Marcos Siega, and Liza Katzer. Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Shrinking) developed the series and serves showrunner and executive producer.
