‘Boardwalk Empire’ Season 4 Preview: Trailer, Cast, and Plot Details

HBO’s set a September 8, 2013 premiere date for the fourth season of Boardwalk Empire, the critically acclaimed drama that brings the Prohibition Era alive via an incredibly colorful group of characters. Steve Buscemi and Kelly Macdonald return to lead the ensemble as Nucky Thompson and Margaret Schroeder.

Season four also stars Michael Shannon as Nelson Van Alden, Shea Whigham as Elias, Gretchen Mol as Gillian, Stephen Graham as Al Capone, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Arnold Rothstein. Jack Huston plays Richard Harrow, Anthony Laciura is Eddie Kessler, Vincent Piazza is Lucky Luciano, Michael K Williams plays Chalky White, Paul Sparks is Mickey Doyle, and Anthony Laciura stars as Eddie Kessler.

Boardwalk Empire Season 4 Plot: Atlantic City, February 1924: After barely surviving an overthrow by gangster Gyp Rossetti, Nucky Thompson is laying low at the end of the Boardwalk. But the calm will be short-lived, as Nucky faces new challenges, including a clash with the mayor, a battle with his brother Eli over Eli’s college-age son, and the irresistible lure of lucrative – and perilous – opportunities in Florida.
