FXX Shares a Slice of ‘Cake’ in a Lengthy Music Video

Ready for a little Cake? FXX’s new series is set to debut tonight at 10:30pm ET/PT and with the premiere just hours away, the network’s released a lengthy “Quarter Life Poetry: Damn I Love This Friday Night” music video.

The video was written by and stars Samantha Jayne and features music by Jayne, Christian Hanlon, and Dom La Nena. Arturo Perez Jr directed the six-minute music video.

In addition to showing off the video, FXX released details on both “Quarter Life Poetry” and the new series, Cake.

Quarter Life Poetry:

“Quarter Life Poetry, based on the hit book and Instagram account of the same name, is a series of darkly funny vignettes about the anxiety of life in your twenties. From the mind of creator/star Samantha Jayne, Quarter Life Poetry is #relatable for the young, the broke and the hangry.”

Details on Cake:

Cake is a handcrafted assortment of bite-sized shorts carefully curated and served up as a tasty treat for the mind. Featuring a diverse array of narratives from storytellers both new and established, this half-hour weekly showcase features both live-action and animated comedy programs of varied length that are equal parts thought-provoking, laugh-inducing, artistic, authentic and raw. (Not to mention, totally gif-able!)

Whether you love surprising animation, relatable musical poetry or emotionally-charged comedy, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Cake currently features Oh Jerome, No; Quarter Life Poetry; Two Pink Doors; Psychotown; Drifters; Daytime Noir; The Places Where We Live; the Joe Bennett Collection, BeSheMoth and many more.”
