Apple TV’s psychological thriller Cape Fear continues with episode three, “Phantom Sensations.” The new take on The Executioners novel—and Martin Scorsese’s 1991 film—debuted on June 5, 2026, and currently sits at 74% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Episode three will stream on Friday, June 12th. Apple TV offers this tease: “Max asks Anna to represent him in a hearing. Tom invites a coworker over. Natalie makes a friend.”
The limited series stars Oscar winner Javier Bardem as Max Cady, Oscar nominee Amy Adams as Anna Bowden, Emmy nominee Patrick Wilson as Joe Bowden, Joe Anders as Zach, Lily Collias as Natalie, and Malia Pyles. The supporting cast includes CCH Pounder, Jamie Hector, and Anna Baryshnikov.

Nick Antosca created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Academy Award-winners Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, Alex Hedlund, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, and Morten Tyldum.
“Inspired by the 1991 remake directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Steven Spielberg, a storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson) when Max Cady (Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance,” reads Apple TV’s synopsis.
