Charlie Hunnam is giving Sons of Anarchy fans what they want … or at least a close proximity to it. The popular FX series wrapped up in 2014 after a seven-season run with an end that left no doubt as to the fate of Hunnam’s Jax Teller.

Charlie Hunnam’s returning to the SoA world and he’s inviting his co-stars back with him. The original cast is reuniting for Legends, created by, written, and executive produced by Hunnam. Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates, and Theo Rossi are getting back together for the limited series, which FX describes as a meta-thriller.

“When the cast of Sons of Anarchy reunites at a fan convention after more than a decade, the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood finds itself up against a real-world threat more dangerous than anything they ever faced in their show,” reads FX’s synopsis.

Jonathan Groff, Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel, and Jackie Cohn serve as executive producers.

“When Charlie brought us this inspired idea, we instantly sparked to his bold and entertaining vision,” stated Nick Grad, FX Entertainment President. “Charlie’s talents are on full display as a writer, performer, and executive producer, leading the real-life brotherhood on an adventure that is both a love letter to the series and a fun meta twist on what fans think they know.”

FX has not announced when filming will begin.

Charlie Hunnam’s recent credits include Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Rebel Moon, Shantaram, and The Gentlemen. He’ll be seen playing Lizzie Borden’s father in Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, premiering on Netflix on September 17, 2026.
