‘Clone High’ Series Preview: Trailer, Cast, and Plot Details

Max’s reboot of Clone High is set to premiere on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 with the release of the first two episodes. The adult animated series, which just released an official trailer, features many of the original voice cast members from the original 2002 series created by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) and Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Shrinking).

The huge voice cast includes returning Clone High stars Will Forte as Abe, Nicole Sullivan as Joan, Phil Lord as Scudworth, and Chris Miller as JFK and Mr. B. Christa Miller returns as Candide Sampson, Donald Faison is back as George Washington Carver, and Judah Miller returns as Scangrade.

Newcomers to the world of animated clones include Ayo Edebiri as Harriet, Mitra Jouhari as Cleo, Vicci Martinez as Frida, Kelvin Yu as Confucius, Neil Casey as Topher Bus, and Jana Schmieding as Sacagawea. Sam Richardson voices Wesley, Mo Gaffney is Ms. Grumbles, Al Madrigal is Frederico, Danny Pudi is Dr. Neelankavil, and Emily Maya Mills is Ethel Merman.

Appearing as themselves are Michael Bolton, Mandy Moore, Ian Ziering, and Steve Kerr.

Lord, Miller, Lawrence, Erica Rivinoja, Erik Durbin, Judah Miller, Jeff Ingold, and ShadowMachine’s Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley executive produce. The reboot is an MTV Entertainment Studios production.

The MTV series premiered on January 20, 2003, and ended its first and only 13-episode season on March 2, 2003. Despite gaining a fanbase, the show caused controversy due to its portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi, resulting in its cancellation after just one season.

The Plot, Courtesy of Max:

A modern refresh of the hit series of the same name, Clone High follows a high school for clones of the greatest minds in history. Twenty years after the original experiment was put on ice, Joan, JFK, Abe, and Cleo have been thawed out to resume school with their new clone classmates – all while navigating a new set of cultural norms and overly dramatic teen relationships.
