High School Musical: The Musical: The Series‘ Tim Federle conjured up the new teen drama Coven Academy for Freeform, Disney+, and Hulu. The original series just dropped a brief teaser featuring Olivia Rodrigo’s “Brutal” and introducing the key characters, including 90210‘s Tiffani Thiessen and A Series of Unfortunate Events‘ Malina Pauli Weissman.
The supernatural drama drops on October 1, 2026 on Freeform and on October 2 on Disney+ and Hulu. Malachi Barton (Camp Rock 3), Jordan Leftwich (The Family Switch), Ora Duplass (Their Town), and Louis Thresher (Boarders) also star.

The Cast and Characters:
- Malina Pauli Weissman is Briar, a fiercely independent New Yorker who discovers she’s a witch;
- Malachi Barton is Jake, a magnetic warlock with a dangerous edge;
- Jordan Leftwich is Sasha, a deeply empathic student who can read minds;
- Ora Duplass is Tegan, an irreverent time-bending witch;
- Louis Thresher is Ollie, a hungry, newly turned vampire;
- Tiffani Thiessen is Miss Graves, the formidable and glamorous head of the school;
- Special guest star Devon Sawa plays Mr. Cole, a brilliant and charismatic warlock professor.
The recurring cast includes Swayam Bhatia as McKenna, Brendon Tremblay as Alexander, Keegan Connor Tracy as Tamora, BJ Harrison as Agnes, and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre as Teese. Tim Federle executive produces along with Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Amanda Row, and Bronwyn North-Reist.
