Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who) and Cush Jumbo (The Good Fight) square off in the first trailer for Apple TV+’s crime thriller Criminal Record. Created by Paul Rutman (Vera), the eight-episode series is set to premiere on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 with the release of the first two episodes.
Capaldi stars as Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty and Jumbo plays Detective Sergeant June Lenker. Charlie Creed-Miles (King Arthur) is Tony Gilfoyle, Dionne Brown (The Walk-In) is DC Chloe Summers, Shaun Dooley (Official Secret) is DS Kim Cardwell, and Stephen Campbell-Moore (The Bank Job) is Leo Hanratty. Zoë Wanamaker (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) plays Maureen, Rasaq Kukoyi (Andor) is Patrick Burrowes, Maisie Ayres is Lisa, Aysha Kala (The Undeclared War) is Sonya Singh, Cathy Tyson (Mona Lisa) is Doris Mathis, and Tom Moutchi (Famalam) is Errol Mathis.
“Criminal Record is a powerful, character-driven thriller set in the heart of contemporary London,” reads Apple TV+’s synopsis. “An anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case – one a young woman in the early stages of her career, the other a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy.”
Rutman, Capaldi, Jumbo, and Elaine Collins serve as executive producers. BAFTA Award winner Jim Loach (Save Me Too) directs the Tod Productions and STV Studios production.
