Netflix has set a Friday, September 20, 2019 premiere date for part two of season one of Disenchantment, the original animated comedy from The Simpsons creator Matt Groening. The streaming service also released the first official poster for the upcoming new episodes of the critically acclaimed series.

The critically acclaimed animated comedy features the voices of Abbi Jacobson (“Bean”), Eric Andre (“Luci”), Nat Faxon (“Elfo”), John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

In our interview with Matt Groening prior to the series’ debut, he explained the series has been buzzing around in his head for years. “I started a sketchbook, I don’t know, a long time ago. Five or eight years ago. I just wrote down every fantasy cliché and trope and reference,” explained Groening. “There are 25 different kinds of short-statured mythical creatures from dwarfs, elves, ogres, trolls, imps, leprechauns, munchkins…on and on and on and on.”

The first 10 episodes of season one premiered on August 17, 2018. Season two has already been greenlit and is also expected to arrive in two parts.

The Plot:

From the mind of Matt Groening comes the 10-episode adult animated comedy fantasy series, Disenchantment. Viewers are whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young Princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

Dying for more Disenchantment but perhaps your memory is a bit… cloudy? Allow us to catch you up: Elfo is gone. Dreamland is deserted. Princess Bean is on a mission. Will She Win… or Booze?
