HBO’s second teaser for Dune: Prophecy offers a new glimpse into the backstory of the Bene Gesserit. The one-minute teaser also warns that sacrifices must be made as the Sisterhood’s influence creates new enemies.
In addition to dropping a new teaser, HBO confirmed the sci-fi drama will premiere in November 2024. (The exact date wasn’t announced.)
“From the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit,” reads HBO’s synopsis.
The six-episode season stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, and Josh Heuston. The ensemble also includes Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, and Chris Mason.
Shalom Brune-Franklin, Camilla Beeput, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha round out the cast.
Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s Sisterhood of Dune inspired the series, and Brian Herbert, Bryon Merritt, and Kim Herbert are involved as executive producers for the Frank Herbert estate. Alison Schapker guides the series as showrunner and executive produces along with series co-developer Diane Ademu-John, Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts. Anna Foerster directed multiple episodes and serves as an executive producer. Author Kevin J. Anderson is a co-producer.
