Amanda Peet has joined the cast of Paramount+’s Fatal Attraction series, based on the classic thriller. Peet will play Beth Gallagher, “a loyal wife, loving mother and successful small business owner whose world unravels when her husband Dan’s indiscretion threatens to destroy their life together.”

Joshua Jackson (Dr. Death) and Lizzy Caplan (Castle Rock) were previously announced to star as Dan Gallagher and Alex Forrest, respectively.

The new series is a reimagining of the critically-acclaimed 1987 thriller that starred Michael Douglas as Dan, Glenn Close as Alex, and Anne Archer as Beth. The R-rated drama directed by Adrian Lyne was nominated for six Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actress (Close), and Best Supporting Actress (Archer).

Alexandra Cunningham (Dirty John) writes, executive produces, and serves as the showrunner. Kevin J. Hynes (Perry Mason) and Amblin Television’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey also executive produce. Silver Tree (The Flight Attendant) is on board to direct and executive produce.

Fatal Attraction is a Paramount Television Studios and Amblin Television production.

Amanda Peet’s credits include playing convicted murderer Betty Broderick in Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story.  She also recently starred in The Romanoffs, Brockmire, and Togetherness.
