Apple TV+ just launched a stunning official trailer for Foundation season two that’s two minutes of eye-popping special effects, kicking off with Brother Day declaring this is an age of darkness. The trailer continues with Gaal Dornick revealing she has dreams of things that will happen and wakes up terrified.
“Despair, death, destruction,” says Gaal, adding, “This is even bigger than the last crisis.”
The 10-episode season two premieres on July 14, 2023 and stars Lee Pace as Brother Day, Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, and Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin. Laura Birn returns as Demerzel, Cassian Bilton is back as Brother Dawn, and Terrence Mann reprises his role as Brother Dusk.
New to the world of Foundation are Isabella Laughland as Brother Constant, Kulvinder Ghir as Poly Verisof, Ella-Rae Smith as Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion, and Holt McCallany as Warden Jaegger Fount. Rachel House plays Tellem Bond, Nimrat Kaur is Yanna Seldon, Ben Daniels is Bel Riose, and Dimitri Leonidas is Hober Mallow.
Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed sci-fi series is based on the stories by Isaac Asimov, with David S. Goyer executive producing and serving as showrunner. Additional executive producers include Alex Graves, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bill Bost, Robin Asimov, and Marcy Ross.
The Season 2 Plot:
More than a century after the season one finale, tension mounts throughout the galaxy in Foundation season two. As the Cleons unravel, a vengeful queen plots to destroy Empire from within. Hari, Gaal, and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic abilities that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation has entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire.
The monumental adaptation of Foundation chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.
