HBO’s padding out the seven episode Game of Thrones season seven with a special The Game Revealed series. The seven-part behind-the-scenes The Game Revealed will be dissecting the biggest developments and revelations of the season via interviews with directors, cast members, effects artists, and series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

In episode one, David Benioff explains why Ed Sheeran was invited to guest star and how the scene which introduced his character was chosen. Maisie Williams and Sheeran talk about the episode, and Sheeran admits that when he found out it was with Arya and he was a Lannister soldier, he assumed everyone would die.

The first episode also features Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and the creation of the gorgeous Westeros map on the floor. Game Revealed: Episode 1 also takes a look at Sam’s time at the Citadel, including the filming of the montage of Sam (John Bradley) going about his daily tasks of cleaning up after the Maesters.

The 14 minute video also delves into the creation of Dragonstone and how multiple locations were used to show Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) arriving back home.

The Game Revealed episode one is available on Youtube. The remainder of the seven-part series will be available only to HBO subscribers via HBO Now, HBO Go, and HBO On Demand. A new episode will be released each Monday.
