‘Gypsy’ Trailer: Naomi Watts Stars in Netflix’s New Thriller

Netflix has released the two minute official trailer for Gypsy starring Naomi Watts. The 10 episode psychological thriller was written by newcomer Lisa Rubin and produced by Rubin, Watts, Working Titles’ Liza Chasin, and Rudd Simons. 50 Shades of Grey‘s Sam Taylor-Johnson directed episodes one and two of the series set to debut on June 30, 2017.

In addition to Watts, the Gypsy cast includes Billy Crudup (Jackie), Sophie Cookson (The Kingsman), Melanie Liburd (Double Play), Poorna Jagannathan (The Night Of), Lucy Boynton (Sing Street), and Karl Glusman (Nocturnal Animals).

The Plot: The series profiles Jean Halloway (Naomi Watts), a well-to-do Manhattan therapist with a seemingly picturesque life and bustling therapy practice. Over the course of 10 episodes, she begins to develop intimate and illicit relationships with the people closely connected to the patient’s that walk through her door every day. As the borders of her professional life and personal fantasies become blurred, she descends into a world where the forces of desire and reality are disastrously at odds for her and those around her.

Billy Crudup plays Jean’s husband, Michael Halloway; Sophie Cookson is Sydney; Lucy Boynton stars as Jean’s patient, Allison; Poorna Jagannathan plays Jean’s coworker, and Karl Glusman is Jean’s patient, Sam.
