‘High School Musical’s Original Cast Reunite for the Series’ Fourth Season

The High School Musical gang is getting back together for Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Original High School Musical cast members Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed, and Kaycee Stroh are joining the cast for the upcoming fourth season of the popular series.

Disney+ also announced season four has added recurring guest stars Kylie Cantrall (Gabby Duran & The Unsittables) as social media star “Dani;” Matthew Sato (Doogie Kamealoha) as sitcom actor “Mack;” Caitlin Reilly (Hacks) as indie film director “Quinn;” and Vasthy Mompoint (The Prom) as choreographer “Krystal.”

The HSM veterans and newcomers join a cast that includes Joshua Bassett as Ricky, Sofia Wylie as Gina, Dara Reneé as Kourtney, Julia Lester as Ashlyn, Frankie Rodriguez as Carlos, Kate Reinders as Miss Jenn, and Liamani Segura as Emmy.

Filming is currently underway in Salt Lake City.

Created by executive producer Tim Federle, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season one premiered in November 2019. Season two followed in May 2021 and season three debuted in July 2022. Disney+ hasn’t set a 2023 premiere date for season four.

Disney+ released the following description of season four:

After an epic summer at Camp Shallow Lake, the Wildcats return to East High where they prepare a stage production of ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year.’ But plans are disrupted when Principal Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited ‘High School Musical 4: The Reunion; movie on location at their beloved high school.

Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed and Kaycee Stroh will play themselves, resurrecting their High School Musical roles as “Chad Danforth,” “Taylor McKessie,” “Ryan Evans,” “Coach Jack Bolton,” “Ms. Darbus” and “Martha Cox,” respectively, and the Wildcats will play featured extras in the movie.
