The dialogue’s not all that compelling, given Groot’s very limited vocabulary, but the visuals are fun in Marvel Studios’ first trailer for I Am Groot season two. The one-minute trailer teases the new adventures the weird little creature will be up to in the second season of the kid-friendly shorts.
Disney+ also released a couple of photos and a poster from the upcoming five shorts that make up the new season.
Vin Diesel, the voice of Groot in all the films involving the Guardians of the Galaxy, is back as the voice of the fan-favorite character. Kirsten Lepore returns as writer, director, and executive producer. Craig Rittenbaum and Alex Scharf produce, and Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso are involved as executive producers.
Disney+ released this very basic description of season two: “The troublemaking twig returns to mischief in the second season of I Am Groot. This time, Baby Groot finds himself exploring the universe and beyond aboard the Guardians’ spaceships, coming face-to-face—or nose-to-nose—with new and colorful creatures and environments.”
I Am Groot premieres on Disney+ on September 6, 2023.
