Netflix’s upcoming comedy special Jerry Before Seinfeld has just released a new trailer. The one-hour stand-up special starring Jerry Seinfeld is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 19, 2017. Jerry Before Seinfeld is part of a deal Seinfeld struck with Netflix that includes new episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee as well as two stand-up shows. In addition, the writer/actor/comedian will help develop new scripted and non-scripted comedies for Netflix.

“When I first started thinking about Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the entire Netflix business model consisted of mailing out DVDs in envelopes. I love that we are now joining together, both at very different points,” stated Seinfeld when the deal was announced in August 2016. “I am also very excited to be working with Ted Sarandos at Netflix, a guy and a place that not only have the same enthusiasm for the art of stand up comedy as I do, but the most amazing technology platform to deliver it in a way that has never existed before. I am really quite charged up to be moving there.”

The Jerry Before Seinfeld Plot: In the hour-long special, Jerry Seinfeld returns to The Comic Strip in New York City for an intimate stand-up set at the club that helped launch his career. Interspersed with never-before-seen material — including a library of legal pads with every joke he’s written since 1975, childhood videos, and more — Jerry performs the jokes that put him on the comedy map.
