Late Night with Jimmy Fallon went out as planned on October 29, 2012, despite Hurricane Sandy and without a live studio audience. Fallon sent the audience home because of the devastating storm (nicknamed ‘Frankenstorm’), taped an intro on the streets of New York, and then stepped inside the studio to deliver his monologue to empty seats. Only the crew was there to laugh and applaud as Fallon talked about the slow weekend at the movies, New York theatres being closed for the storm, and how it’s tough to take a storm named Sandy seriously.
