Video: Jodie Foster’s 2013 Golden Globe Acceptance Speech

Did you love Jodie Foster’s Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech at the 2013 Golden Globes? Did you understand it? Parts didn’t seem to make sense and there will be people turned off by her praise for Mel Gibson, but say what you will – Foster said what she wanted to say, how she wanted to say it, and did it completely for herself. Teasing a big ‘coming out’ speech, Foster said she’d done that years ago to the people who mattered and that she wants to retain whatever privacy she can.

Foster also talked about her career and it appeared she was hinting at retirement, however backstage she clarified and said she was not ready to consider the ‘r’ word.
