There’s something seriously wrong with a professional sports league up in arms over the possibility of an openly gay player joining their ranks while openly embracing – and giving a multi-million dollar contract to – a man who tortured and killed an unknown number of innocent dogs for financial gain. Yes, it’s so much better to have an animal killer on your roster than a talented player who happens to be gay. Thankfully, not everyone in charge in the NFL thinks the same narrow-minded way and Michael Sam will, undoubtedly, find himself signed to a team that puts talent above sexual preferences.
The Daily Show host Jon Stewart turned the spotlight on the NFL’s knee-jerk reaction to Michael Sam’s announcement that he’s gay, and Stewart’s ripping of the NFL is a thing of beauty.
