The CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow star Dominic Purcell made his umpteenth trip to the San Diego Comic Con to promote the upcoming third season of the comic book-inspired series. During roundtable interviews, Purcell admitted he occasionally needs to step away from the crowds when it gets to be a bit overwhelming. However, even if attending a massive event like the Con brings on a small panic attack, Purcell loves being able to see the fans reactions to Legends of Tomorrow and being able to listen to what the fans have to say about his character, Mick Rory.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season three will premiere on October 10, 2017.

How will Mick be reacting to the group needing to fix time after they broke it in season two?

Dominic Purcell: “I don’t think Mick gives a sh*t about fixing time. I think Mick’s much more kind of interested in what he can steal and what he can get out for himself. What is interesting about Mick is that he is now starting to see the crew as his family in a very subliminal kind of way. It’s creeping up on him that he is starting to care for these people. And, the crew vice versa is starting to really trust that Mick is starting to come on board. I use the analogy that he has one foot in, one foot out now. Whereas last season it was two feet out and holding on by a finger.

But, you know, I think the show needs a character like Mick that breaks up, shakes up the seriousness of everything. He’s the bullsh*t filter, you know what I mean? I think that’s why people really respond to him. And the rest of the cast are turning into seasoned comedians as well, trying to copy my style.”

Mick does have a lot of humorous lines. Does he try to be funny?

Dominic Purcell: “No, he doesn’t try to be funny. That’s just him. He’s unfiltered; he’s uncensored. And when you come across people like that who just say it like it is, people laugh. They’re like, ‘F*ck, Mick, that’s pretty f*cking honest.’ And that’s funny. Honesty is funny in a day and age like this, you know?”

What’s been your favorite place to visit thus far on the show?

Dominic Purcell: “That’s a good question. I’ve been asked it before and I haven’t worked it out. I tell you a place that I think Mick would really excel is in a post-apocalyptic world, like Mad Max. I think he’d do very, very well there. I think that’s a world I’d like to explore.”
