Netflix used the San Diego Comic Con to launch the teaser trailer for season one of Marvel’s Luke Cage, bringing cast members Mike Colter, Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali, Theo Rossi, Simone Missick, and Frank Whaley to the Con to discuss the show’s first season. The cast joined executive producer Cheo Hodari Coker to introduce the never before seen trailer for the series which is set to debut on September 30, 2016 at 12:01am PT.
Netflix’s panel also included the announcement of a third season for Daredevil as well as an appearance by Jon Bernthal who stars as Frank Castle in the upcoming Marvel’s The Punisher series. (Bernthal appeared in season two of Daredevil.) Finn Jones also appeared via video to show off a first look at Marvel’s Iron Fist, and Netflix’s Marvel’s The Defenders made its debut.
The Marvel’s Luke Cage Plot: After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury. Mike Colter plays the charismatic lead character, Luke Cage and is joined by Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).
