One of Netflix’s most anticipated new series, Maniac, has just unveiled the first official photos. The first batch of photos from the series shows scenes featuring Superbad co-stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill as well as Justin Theroux (The Girl on the Train) and Sally Field (Hello, My Name is Doris). The cast also includes Julia Garner (The Americans, Ozark) and Jemima Kirke (Girls, The Little Hours).
Maniac is based on the 2014 Norwegian series and will consist of 10 episodes. Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Beasts of No Nation) directs all 10 episodes and the series is written by novelist Patrick Somerville. (Somerville also wrote episodes of The Leftovers.) Paramount TV and Anonymous Content produce the new Netflix series.
Netflix hasn’t set a premiere date for Maniac, however it’s expected to premiere later this year.
The Plot: Maniac is the story of two strangers who find themselves caught up in a mind-bending pharmaceutical trial gone awry.
