The only surprising thing about AMC’s announcement was that it took so long to confirm Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches has been renewed for season two. The popular supernatural series has been a hit on both AMC and AMC+, and its first season is now the most viewed on AMC+ over its first 30 days (per AMC Networks). That’s pretty impressive when you consider it was up against the final season of The Walking Dead.
Season one, which currently airs on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT, is ranked in the top 10 cable dramas of 2022-2023. Filming on season two is expected to kick off later this year in New Orleans.

The cast is led by Alexandra Daddario as Rowan Fielding. Jack Huston stars as Lasher, Tongayi Chirisa is Ciprien Grieve, and Harry Hamlin plays Cortland Mayfair. The first season also features Beth Grant as Carlotta, Hannah Alline as Suzanne, and Jen Richards as Jojo.

The Plot:
The eight-episode series focuses on an intuitive young neurosurgeon, Rowan Fielding (Daddario), who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.
