‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Earns a Fifth and Final Season

Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown will wrap up with a just-announced fifth and final season. The finale of season four concluded several storylines, including Merle Callahan’s, and the 10-episode season saw multiple supporting characters killed off. However, the Colombian cartel still had soldiers in Kingstown and we may not have seen the last of Frank Moses (Lennie James) and his men.

Among those who survived season four are series star Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, Hugh Dillon as Ian, Derek Webster as Stevie, Taylor Handley as Kyle, Tobi Bamtefa as Bunny, and Laura Benanti as Cindy. Edie Falco’s Warden Hobbs also escaped the bloodbath and was still in charge of the prison as season four wrapped up.

“In season four, Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis. “Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”

The streamer hasn’t released a description of season five or a target premiere date.

Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon created the series and serve as executive producers. Additional executive producers include Jeremy Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Christoph Schrewe, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, and Keith Cox. Dave Erickson executive produces and is the series’ showrunner.

Mayor of Kingstown is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.
