Five-time Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris will be guiding contestants through Netflix’s new game show What’s In The Box as host. The six-episode first season is targeting a December 2025 premiere.

“Giant boxes conceal jaw-dropping prizes, wild surprises, and unexpected reveals in What’s in the Box, a high-stakes arching game show that tests smarts, strategy, and stamina,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Over several episodes, pairs of contestants face off in fast-paced, addictive trivia rounds, racing to correctly guess what’s inside each box. But winning a prize is just the beginning. As the game unfolds, shifting alliances and unexpected twists mean only those with sharp instincts — and a little luck — will hold onto their winnings and claim victory.”

Rollercoaster Television is producing, with James Fox, Dom Waugh, Wes Kauble, and Leanne Witcoop executive producing.

Neil Patrick Harris’ credits include How I Met Your Mother, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Uncoupled, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and The Matrix Resurrections. Next up is Dexter: Resurrection, premiering on July 11, 2025, and starring Michael C. Hall, Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman, and Jack Alcott.
