
Netflix has found its key cast for the upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo series. Mckenna Grace (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping) has been tapped to play Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen (The Pitt) is on board to play Shaggy Rogers, and Abby Ryder Fortson (Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret) has been cast as Velma Dinkley.
Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) will star as Fred Jones.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are writing, executive producing, and serving as showrunners of the currently untitled series. Additional executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Adrienne Erickson, and Toby Haynes. Haynes will also direct the first episode.

“A modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.
Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”
