‘Outlander’ New Posters Show a Fierce Claire Facing Down Black Jack Randall

New Outlander Season 1 Posters for the Show's Second Half

We’re a month away from Outlander‘s return for the second half of season one and Starz has just unveiled two gorgeous new posters promoting the upcoming eight new episodes. The original poster for the series based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling books had Claire (Caitriona Balfe) desperately reaching over her shoulder to try and take her husband Frank’s hand while Jamie (Sam Heughan) stood in front of her offering her his.

The new posters show Claire is no longer lost and afraid and instead is ready to stand up for herself against Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). With one hand, she brandishes a knife in Black Jack’s direction and with the other, she reaches back toward Jamie who is now standing much closer than he was in the first poster for the series.

The new posters reflect the change in relationship between Claire and Jamie and offer a glimpse at how they’ll approach any potential enemies as a committed married couple in the second half of the season.

Starz released the new posters along with details on where the posters were shot, revealing Jason Bell was the photographer for this pair of darker posters. Bell placed the three lead actors in the same locations where the official poster released at the start of Outlander‘s first season was shot.

The second half of season one debuts on April 4, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on Starz.

The Plot: “Outlander spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure as it follows Claire Randall, a married WWII combat nurse who mistakenly falls back in time to 1743. As the season continues, Claire and Jamie’s relationship is tested and Claire must reconcile her modern mindset with this 18th century world. Ruthless redcoats, volatile clan politics, and a brutal witch trial force Jamie and Claire to escape to a new home. Just when their life as a married couple begins to take shape, Jamie is once again drawn into Captain Randall’s darkness. Ultimately, Claire discovers there is a fate worse than death as she struggles to save Jamie’s heart, as well as his soul.”
