Two episodes in and it feels like Constantine is on its way to finding its groove. The first episode introduced a character set up as someone important to the show only to abandon that particular storyline to concentrate elsewhere. Episode two then introduced a new supporting character who will take over as the pivotal female in John Constantine’s life. And as the show’s finding its footing, NBC has revealed one of the Hellblazer comic book’s most anticipated characters into the world of the series, showing off two photos of Papa Midnite.

Papa Midnite will be introduced in episode three titled “The Devil’s Vinyl” and played by Michael James Shaw. Per the network, here’s the plot of episode three airing on November 7, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT:

“A DESPERATE WIFE MUST MAKE A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL TO SAVE HER HUSBAND’S LIFE — MICHAEL JAMES SHAW GUEST STARS AS ‘PAPA MIDNITE’ — John (Matt Ryan) and Zed (Angélica Celaya) engage in a dangerous confrontation to save a woman and her family from sinister forces. John’s efforts force him to confront the darkness in his own life – while also coming face to face with a new powerful adversary in Papa Midnite? Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford also star.”
