Paramount+’s January 2024 lineup includes the series premiere of Sexy Beast, a prequel to the critically acclaimed, award-winning drama released in 2000 and starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Ray Winstone. The streaming service’s also kicking off the new year with the debut of The Woman in the Wall, a six-episode series starring Ruth Wilson (His Dark Materials) and Daryl McCormack (Bad Sisters).
June Carter Cash is the focus of June, a feature-length documentary directed by Emmy Award-winner Kristen Vaurio (Going Clear: Scientology & The Prison of Belief) arriving on January 16. January 2024 also sees the return of SkyMed, a medical drama set in the world of medics and pilots who fly air ambulances in Canada, for its second season.

June shines an important spotlight on the history of country music and the mark the Carter and Cash families made on the genre before diving into the complex life of the legendary June Carter Cash. The five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, comedian, musician, actor and author has opened for Elvis, appeared onscreen with Robert Duvall and Jane Seymour, and co-wrote one of the most recognizable country songs of all time, “Ring of Fire.”
Perhaps at times overshadowed by her iconic husband Johnny Cash, she now takes center stage.
Sexy Beast
The prequel series explores the origins of Gal (James McArdle) and Don’s (Emun Elliott) complicated relationship as they find themselves descending into the seductive madness of the London criminal world during the vibrant and volatile 1990s, while Gal’s budding relationship with Deedee (Sarah Greene) threatens everything in their world.

SkyMed follows the triumphs and tribulations of young medics and pilots who fly air ambulances across Northern Canada. The Woman in the Wall
The Woman in the Wall is a new six-episode thriller that centers on Lorna Brady (Ruth Wilson), a woman from the small, fictional Irish town of Kilkinure, who wakes one morning to find a corpse in her house. Chillingly, Lorna has no idea who the dead woman is or if she, herself, might be responsible for the apparent murder. That’s because Lorna has long suffered from extreme bouts of sleepwalking ever since she was ripped from her life at the age of 15 and incarcerated in The Kilkinure Convent, a (fictional) home to one of Ireland’s infamous Magdalene Laundries for women.
There, Lorna gave birth to her daughter Agnes, who cruelly was taken from her and whose fate Lorna never has known. Detective Colman Akande (Daryl McCormack) is now also on Lorna’s tail for a crime seemingly unrelated to the body she has discovered in her house. His scathing wit hides a quiet sadness, and when he meets Lorna, he finds himself forced to confront his own haunting secrets.
As Colman searches for a murderer and Lorna searches for her daughter, their paths collide in ways they never could have anticipated.
