‘Reef Break’ Season 1 Episode 1 Preview: Photos, Cast, and Plot Details

Reef Break begins its first season summer run on ABC on June 20, 2019. The drama series kicks off season one with an episode directed by Alex Zakrzewski (Bosch, Blue Bloods) from a script by Ken Sanzel (Numb3rs, Blue Bloods). Sanzel created the series and Mark Rosner, Steve Pearlman, and Ruthanne Secunda executive produce.

Reef Break will air on Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT.

The cast of season one is led by Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace, Unforgettable) as Cat Chambers. Montgomery also serves as an executive producer. The series is based on a story idea by Montgomery and Sanzel.

Season one also features Ray Stevenson (Black Sails, Rome) as Jake Elliot, Desmond Chiam (The Shannara Chronicles, Now Apocalypse) as Wyatt Cole, Melissa Bonne (Home and Away, Pulse) as Ana Dumont, and Tamala Shelton (Nowhere Boys, Cleverman) as Petra.

Reef Break is an ABC Studios, ABC Studios International, and M6 production. The series will air on ABC in the U.S. and on M6 in France.

The “Pilot” Plot – When former thief Cat Chambers returns home to the Pacific island paradise known as The Reef, she finds herself in the center of a kidnapping, when the daughter of the island’s most prominent resident goes missing. Cat’s less-than-perfect past gives her an instinctive gift for understanding crime and criminals, as she becomes enmeshed in the first of many fast-paced, high-octane island adventures.
