Are we over the whole zombie thing or is there room for another zombie series on TV? iZombie co-creator and executive producer Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) and The CW believe audiences are so into zombies that they are eager for more and will check out the new series iZombie. And iZombie has such a quirky take on the walking dead that it’s not exactly aiming for the same audience as other zombie projects. iZombie is based on characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, however Thomas was quick to point out during our interview at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con that the series will diverge from the Vertigo comic.

The Plot: “Rose McIver stars as Olivia “Liv” Moore, a 25-year-old medical resident on the fast track to a perfect life … until she’s turned into a zombie. Liv transfers her residency to the coroner’s office for access to the brains she must reluctantly eat, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she now solves homicides to quiet the voices in her head.”

Check out what Thomas had to say about the series and about what audiences can expect when they tune in to check out iZombie:
