‘School Spirits’ Series Preview: Who’s In It, What’s It About, and When Does It Air

The full trailer shows Madison (Peyton List) meeting fellow ghosts who are stuck spending eternity in high school (oh, the horror!) and joining their bizarre but necessary little support group.

The trailer arrived one month out from the young adult drama’s March 9, 2023 premiere. The eight-episode season will kick off with the release of the first three episodes, followed by new episodes streaming on Thursdays.

In addition to Peyton List (Cobra Kai) as Madison “Maddie” Nears, the season one cast includes Kristian Flores (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) as Simon Elroy, Spencer MacPherson (Reign) as Xavier Baxter, Kiara Pichardo (The Society) as Nicole Herrera, Sarah Yarkin (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) as Rhonda, and Nick Pugliese (13 Reasons Why) as Charley.

Rainbow Wedell (The Wilds) plays Claire Zolinski and Milo Manheim (Zombies 3) is Wally Clark. Recurring guest stars include Josh Zuckerman (The Offer) as Mr. Martin and Maria Dizzia (Orange Is the New Black) as Sandra Nears.

The series is based on a graphic novel by Nate Trinrud, Megan Trinrud, and Maria Nguyen, with Oliver Goldstick (Pretty Little Liars) guiding season one as showrunner. Goldstick executive produces with creators and writers Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud. The first two episodes were directed and executive produced by Max Winkler (Cruel Summer). Series star Peyton List is a producer.
