Syfy is aiming to steal some of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week thunder with the announcement of a Sharknado Week. But Discovery Channel isn’t taking that announcement lightly and has come up with a Shark Week promo featuring a gigantic shark that could have come straight out of Syfy’s flying shark movies.
In the new Shark Week promotional video, the shark is seen hanging upside down, dead. However, we haven’t seen the last of 2013’s Shark Week meal, as Snuffy (or at least a seal who looks a lot like him), emerges unscathed from the dead shark thanks to a very courageous shark wrestler.
Syfy’s Sharknado Week will run Saturday, July 26, 2014 through Saturday, August 2nd. Sharknado 2: The Second One will premiere on July 30th, and additional shark-themed programming will include Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark, Sharkmania: The Top 15 Biggest Baddest Bloodiest Bites, and Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda.
