Dame Shirley Bassey brought the star-studded crowd to their feet – and rightfully so – by belting out “Goldfinger” at the 2013 Oscars on Sunday, February 24th. In a night in which music from films and movie musicals were spotlighted, Bassey’s performance came as part of the tribute to 50 years of Bond films.

Prior to Shirley Bassey’s appearance, Academy Awards producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said, “We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Dame Shirley Bassey to our Oscar show. Her association with film music is world-renowned and we are proud that she will be making her first Oscar appearance on our telecast.”
