‘SNL’ Video: Ronda Rousey Takes Down Bullies

UFC star Ronda Rousey hosted the January 23, 2016 episode of Saturday Night Live which went on despite the massive blizzard that struck the East Coast. Rousey, who’s nabbed a few acting roles, did a decent job of reading her lines but never really had that one stand-out skit that will make this year’s Best Of reel. Tina Fey’s return as Sarah Palin with Darrell Hammond as Donald Trump stole the show, and everything that came after that SNL opening bit paled in comparison.

Probably the highlight of Rousey’s hosting gig was a skit titled ‘Love Struck’ that found her playing a new student tricked into a date with the high school football stud (played by Beck Bennett). Rousey’s UFC background was put to good use as she took down the school’s Queen Mean Girl with a series of increasingly harsh attacks.
