‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Teaser Features That Horrifying Doll

Netflix just released the first super short teaser for the upcoming second season of Squid Game. The teaser was accompanied by a statement from Hwang Dong-hyuk, writer, director, and executive producer of the critically acclaimed, award-winning series, confirming the show’s been greenlit for season two.

“It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year. But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director, and producer of Squid Game, a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show,” stated Hwang Dong-hyuk.

He added: “And now, Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming. The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend, Cheol-su.

Join us once more for a whole new round.”

The statement didn’t include any additional casting news (Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun will return) or a targeted premiere date.

Season one debuted in September 2021 and earned Screen Actors Guild, AFI, and Critics Choice awards. The cast includes Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Oh Yeong-su, Byung-hun, Hoyeon, and Wi Ha-Joon.
