Starfleet has a new cadet. Sandro Rosta has joined the cast of Paramount+’s Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which is scheduled to start production this month.
“Star Trek: Starfleet Academy introduces viewers to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis. “Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.”

Tig Notaro reprises her role as Jett Reno, and Robert Picardo slips back into his The Doctor character for the new addition to the popular sci-fi franchise.
Guest stars include Oded Fehr and Mary Wiseman, reprising their roles as Admiral Vance and Sylvia Tilly. Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti appear as recurring guest stars.
Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau are the co-showrunners and serve as executive producers. Additional executive producers include Gaia Violo, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Jenny Lumet, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa, and John Weber. Violo wrote the series premiere.
