‘Star Trek’ Series Teases Fans with the Official Logo

CBS unveiled the new official logo for the upcoming Star Trek TV series with a short teaser video during the CBS Upfront Presentation at Carnegie Hall in New York. The video is less than a minute long and gives away nothing at all about the plot, but at least it does include the original iconic theme music. Star Trek will be premiering in January 2017 and will air on CBS All Access, with a special preview airing first on the CBS Television Network.

Hannibal‘s Bryan Fuller is the series’ showrunner and executive produces along with Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth.

The short teaser promises new crews, new villains, new heroes, and new worlds. Rumor has it the new series has nothing to do at all with the rebooted Star Trek film franchise and instead will be a continuation of the original series that starred William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, James Doohan, Walter Koenig, and DeForest Kelley.
