‘The Agency’ Drops a Trailer and Sets a November Premiere

The first trailer for Showtime’s The Agency shows two-time Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender discussing the well-being of agents. “I believe there’s only one type of agent: the insane,” says Fassbender as Martian, a CIA agent. The trailer ends with Martian telling the doctor, “You’re not trying to help me, doctor. You’re worried I may have somehow become sane.”

The cast of the political thriller includes Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Richard Gere. Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and Reza Brojerdi also star. Hugh Bonneville guest stars, and Adam Nagaitis, Ambreen Razia, Bilal Hasna, David Harewood, Kurt Egyiawan, Ray BLK, Sabrina Wu, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor appear in recurring roles.

“A fresh take on the critically acclaimed hit French drama Le Bureau des Legendes, the all-new political thriller follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis. “When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity, and his mission are pitted against his heart, hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.”

Jez and John-Henry Butterworth write and executive produce, with Joe Wright executive producing and directing the first two episodes. Additional executive producers include Michael Fassbender, Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Alex Berger, Ashley Stern, and Pascal Breton.

The Agency will premiere on November 29, 2024 with the release of the first two episodes. New episodes of the espionage thriller drop on Fridays.
