‘The Good Doctor’ Season 6 Episode 1: Photos, Air Date, Cast, and Plot Details

ABC’s The Good Doctor season five ended with Shaun and Lea getting married followed by a brutal attack that served up a heartstopping cliffhanger. And it appears season six episode one will pick up just minutes after the finale ended. Episode one, “Afterparty,” was directed by Mike Listo from a script by Peter Blake and will air on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT.

In an interview with TVLine, executive producer David Shore discussed what’s in store for fans when they tune into the season six premiere. “The first episode has a huge amount of intensity and fun, but it’s difficult because it’s the immediate fallout [from the finale]… Lim’s journey is going to be a big part of it, we have some nice things planned for Glassman, and, of course, nothing but wedded bliss for Shaun and Lea.”

Season six stars Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy, Hill Harper plays Dr. Marcus Andrews, Richard Schiff is Dr. Aaron Glassman, and Will Yun Lee is Dr. Alex Park. Paige Spara stars as Lea Dilallo, Christina Chang is Dr. Audrey Lim, Fiona Gubelmann plays Dr. Morgan Reznick, Bria Henderson is Dr. Jordan Allen, and Noah Galvin is Dr. Asher Wolke.

“Afterparty” Plot: Shaun and Lea’s long-awaited wedding reception is interrupted by a violent attack at the hospital and the entire team must mobilize to save the victims. Meanwhile, the trauma of seeing people he cares for in life-threatening situations is affecting Shaun in more ways than one.
