Clive Owen and Steven Soderbergh Team Up for ‘The Knick’

Cinemax’s new series The Knick will premiere on August 8, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT starring Clive Owen and directed by Steven Soderbergh. The 10-part series is set in 1900 and was executive produced by Soderbergh, Owen, Jack Amiel, Michael Begler, Michael Sugar, and Gregory Jacobs.

In addition to Owen, the cast includes Andre Holland, Eve Hewson, Jeremy Bobb, Juliet Rylance, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan, Cara Seymour, Eric Johnson, David Fierro, Maya Kazan, Grainger Hines, and Leon Addison Brown.

The Plot:

Set in downtown New York in 1900, The Knick centers on Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses, and staff who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics. André Holland, Eve Hewson, Juliet Rylance, Jeremy Bobb, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan, Cara Seymour, Eric Johnson, David Fierro, Maya Kazan, Leon Addison Brown, and Matt Frewer round out the ensemble cast.
