Fox has set a Sunday, January 1, 2017 premiere date for the new adult comedy, The Mick, starring Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Finding Dory). The Mick will debut on New Year’s Day at 8pm ET/PT following the NFL doubleheader and then episode two will air on Tuesday, January 3rd at 8:30pm, the show’s actual time slot. Also on January 3rd, New Girl will move to its new time slot at 8pm. Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine will air its two-part winter finale on January 1st immediately following The Mick.

The Mick was written and created by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s John Chernin and David Chernin. The Chernins, Nick Frenkel, Oly Obst, and Randall Einhorn (The Office) executive produce, and Einhorn directed the show’s pilot.

The Plot: The Mick follows MacKenzie, aka “Mickey” (Olson), a brash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who must assume guardianship of her sister’s three high-maintenance children. As irresponsible as Mickey has been her entire life, she may discover that responsibility isn’t the buzzkill she always thought it would be. The series also stars Sofia Black D’Elia (The Night Of), Thomas Barbusca (Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life), newcomer Jack Stanton, Carla Jimenez (Last Man Standing) and newcomer Scott MacArthur.
