AMC’s teaser for The Walking Dead: Dead City season three shows Maggie turning to Negan for help protecting Manhattan. The Walking Dead spinoff premiered in June 2023, followed by season two in May 2025. The new season premieres on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan return to star as Negan and Maggie, alongside Jimmi Simpson, Raúl Castillo, Aimee Garcia, Logan Kim, and Michael Emery.
AMC’s synopsis reads, “In season three, Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) finally put aside their differences to build the first thriving community in Manhattan since the apocalypse, but when chaos in the city begins to arise, they are forced to question: have they learned from their old wounds or will their dark past spell doom for the entire city?”
Seth Hoffman guides the series as showrunner and serves as an executive producer. Additional executive producers include chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe Scott M. Gimple, Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Brian Bockrath, and Colin Walsh.
