‘The Witcher’ Season 3 Trailer Teases Henry Cavill’s Final Season

The new trailer for season three of Netflix’s The Witcher is giving off heavy “you’re going to miss him when he’s gone” vibes. The official trailer for the upcoming season features Henry Cavill in full-on Geralt of Rivia mode, which makes fans not only anxious for the third season to premiere but also sad that it’s going to be Cavill’s last as Geralt.

The streaming service’s new trailer was accompanied by four character posters along with a batch of new photos.

Joining Cavill in season three are Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Myanna Buring as Tissaia, and Eamon Farren as Cahir. Mimî M Khayisa stars as Fringilla, Royce Pierreson is Istredd, Anna Shaffer is Triss Merigold, Mecia Simson is Francesca, Tom Canton is Filavandrel, and Mahesh Jadu is Vilgefortz.

Additionally, Graham McTavish is Dijkstra, Cassie Clare is Philippa, Hugh Skinner is Radovid, Wilson Mbomio is Dara, Lars Mikkelsen is Stregobor, and Terence Maynard is Artorius. Simon Callow stars as Codringher, Liz Carr plays Fenn, Therica Wilson-Read is Sabrina, Safiyya Ingar is Keira, Rochelle Rose is Margarita, and Michalina Olszanska is Marti.

The huge ensemble also features Robbie Amell as Gallatin, Jeremy Crawford as Yarpen, Bart Edwards as Emhyr, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Christelle Elwin as Mistle, and Meng’er Zhang plays Milva.

Season three’s eight episodes will arrive in two parts. Part one premieres on June 29, 2023 and includes episodes one through five. Part two, with episodes six through eight, follows on July 27th.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich guides the new season as showrunner and executive producer. Stephen Surjik, Gandja Monteiro, Loni Peristere, and Bola Ogun direct season three episodes from scripts by Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Tania Lotia, Haily Hall, Matthew D’Ambrosio, Clare Higgins, Rae Benjamin, and Troy Dangerfield.

Tera Vale Ragan, Veselin Karadjov, and Sasha Harris serve as producers. Steve Gaub, Matt O’Toole, Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Platige Films (Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko), and Hivemind Content (Jason Brown and Sean Daniel) executive produce.

The Season 3 Plot:

As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to uncover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery.

They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.
